A true Mind, Body, and Spirit approach
Brett Richardson PhD, RCC, CCC, RCT, ACNNI have years of therapeutic experience, working in clinical and community settings, in addition to the work I have done in coaching and educational roles. I have worked extensively with LGBTQ2S+ communities; with people struggling with substance use and other addictive patterns; and with people dealing with grief, loss, and trauma.
I received my Masters of Education (MEd) in Counselling Psychology from University of Toronto. I am a registered counselling therapist (RCT) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. In Quebec, I also belong to the Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists of Canada. I also hold a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology from Concordia University. In my research, I study mental health and wellness, and addiction and gender more specifically, from sociocultural perspectives. As such, I believe a crucial part of self-understanding, and thus self-empathy, is a life understood in social and cultural contexts. |
